What appeals to you about electronics?
The main draw to electronics is the creativity that it allows you to use. Even with a rigid set of requirements there are a limitless amount of options and methods to solve the problem you are dealing with. The main challenge is discovering those methods and deciding on the best one, which I find incredibly rewarding.
Why choose Konrad Technologies?
There were three main reasons I wanted to join Konrad Technologies:
- The sector that the company operates in. Being in Test and Automation offers far more variety than most others afford. This gave me opportunities to work across multiple sectors including Medical, Chemical and Manufacturing.
- The option to travel. In my time at Konrad I spent a month working in Germany and visited Scotland twice, for both a Networking event and a customer visit.
- Meaningful contribution. Throughout my internship I was working on projects and tasks directly for the customer. I had the ability to make a real and significant impact on projects while I was there.
The type of work I’ve been involved with during my placement
My time at Konrad Technologies involved writing software across multiple projects. It also allowed me to get crucial experience being on calls with customers enabling me to give demonstrations, do requirements gathering and receive feedback for work done. Konrad also allows you to dedicate one afternoon per week to a personal project that can be completely unrelated to the business needs. This allows you to oversee a project throughout its lifecycle, giving you incredibly valuable experience.
My interests
In my free time I enjoy volunteering, having run activity sessions for children with disabilities. I also enjoy gaming and running.
