Who we are and what we do
Ethicronics specialises in highly scalable software solutions to address complex electronics hardware challenges. Founded in 2022, the Cambridge-based company has secured multiple competitive grants (including a collaborative £2.5M UK/APAC project Ethicronics lead) to first bring to market a software solution to ensure no more counterfeit/compromised electronics hardware -at scale. Backed by Cambridge Accelerate, NCSC for Startups, Defence and Security Accelerator (DASA)/Thales, and Innovate UK, Ethicronics is a 2024 finalist in multiple prestigious awards (Infosecurity Europe, NATO, IET, Cambridge Independent, Elektra, IoTSF), 2024 Business Weekly Cambridge Graduate of the Year Award Winner and 2024 Franco-British Business Awards Small Business Award Winner.

What you could be doing during your work placement
Students will work as part of the core product development team working on scalable software (we remain flexible) for better electronics (mostly security, eventually sustainability and privacy). Motivation to impact globally is a key requirement at Ethicronics, plus the desire to learn. Additional valuable skills would be: an interest in software and/or electronics, capability to work part of a team, capability to report and a curiosity for start-ups. There will be 4 interns in Summer 2025 at Ethicronics, right in the centre of Cambridge and the tech eco-system.
